PASIR BESI / IRON SAND (Ferous sand)
There are 3 mining companies are existing: Rantai Mas, Guci Mas and Alam Mineral Lestari, covering approximately 300 Hectares concession, however only Rantai Mas that in operation now, whilst Guci Mas under suspended and AML under preparation to get exploitation permit.
The Public Relation of AML said: although the Minister of Minerals of Indonesia had issued a rule that exporting raw iron sand only up to 2014. after that it must be in pig-irons ore that allow for exporting. It means that the mining coy must built a refinery or melting plants to produce the pig-irons ore. AML would keep trying the best to consistent in investing in this mining sector in Jepara. However, AML who had completed the AMDAL and IUP mining license in predicate of Clear and Clean, still to face the bureaucratic problems and also the social response.
AML bear approx 200 Ha concession, which are spread in 3 spots. They would contribute a CSR to each village on or about a half to 1 billion IDR /year if in full capacity. which is double than the local gov subsidiary for infrastructure and other development projects on to each village, whilst the campaign promise from the Vice regent (Wabup Subroto) for giving funds of ADD in half billion IDR/year if they are elected are still not coming down yet? The Vice Regent Subroto had an assumption that the license/concession/AMDAL of this AML must have a review and investigate by independent team of finding facts. Together with Forkopinda (Muspida) id est: Police Head, DA, and Military Commandant, Subroto(Wakil bupati) had suspended the Pasir Besi mining until the investigation had been taken.
This policy decision was taken by 3 main reasons ie: 1.The case of 15 suspects of anarchy from RW 11 Krisik tenants that riots and ruin the Guci Mas's property at their concession site in Bandungharjo village. which is under a court case now. 2. The demo from Fishermen Forum and some outsider NGO(LSM) protesting against the anti Pasir Besi mining under issue of damage the Seashore and beach that would bring abrasion and other environment impacts. 3. The issue of some "conditioning' or bribery in applying the permit paper while the transition of the new regent and vice regent in Jepara by the Secretary of Kabupaten. (Soleh). Therefore the Plice Head (Barudin) had propose to Regent(Marzuki) to suspend the activity of Pasie Besi mining untill it is Conducive(secure). Especially that no protest and no Demonstration or any Riot that would may come.
AML trying best to do public relation social communications to each stakeholders, case by case to clarify it. Trying to build a generous cooperation with all parties and stakeholders in these issues. to build a mutual community development and cooperative relationship with local gov forkopinda.

Sebanyak 15.271 unit produksi telah diidentifikasi di Jepara, memperkerjakan sekitar 170.000 orang. Kegiatan tersebut menghasilkan pendapatan, yaitu nilai tambah antara Rp 11.900 - 12.300 miliar/ tahun (sekitar Euro 1miliar/tahun), atau Rp 70-78 juta/pekerja/tahun. Konsumsi kayu bulat di Kab. Jepara adalah sebesar 1,5 hingga 2,2 juta m³/tahun, artinya 9 m³ kayu bulat dapat menyokong pekerjaan 1 pekerja tetap selama satu tahun.
